Tasting Notes
This wine smells like its traditional aromatic white counterpart, but ripe apricot, honeysuckle aromatics, and a pithy tangerine grip give this orange wine a textural advantage. This 30-day sking contact Dry Riesling shows us all the complexity of the grape without the oxidation or funk - tons of florals and aromatics on the nose, bracing acidity, and really incredible minerality. Yum!
About Union Sacré
Union Sacré is one of the most unique wineries on the Central Coast. Devoted to Alsance varieties only thing that can be said is it is treading a new path. While other chase more mainstream things, this label, with its French born and raised winemaker, is doing things in a different way. Xavier Arnaudin studied winemaking in France and was supposed to go to Argentina for his first international winemaking internship. However, due to an unfortunate happening, he ended up in Paso Robles. Since arriving, he has never looked back. Made by two long-time friends, Xavier and Philip, who arrived at the Central Coast from opposite ends of the Earth. Xavier is a WSET certified, Oenology degree holder from France, Philip is a self-taught designer from Michigan who kind of misses living in a van. Between the two of them, Xavier and Philip have 25+ years of experience working in Central Coast wineries.
