2023 Richvale Wine Co 'Pool Party Pink' Rosé

80% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre. The Grenache is from the Kopack Vineyard in the El Pomar District AVA of Paso Robles. Picked for rosé. Straight to press & fermented with feral yeast in a stainless steel tank. The Mourvèdre is 50% whole cluster and foot trodden for one day.  No other punchdowns or pumpovers. Sat on the skins for 5 days until fermentation began, then pressed it off and fermented in a neutral puncheon. 12.0% alcohol. This is a fun, crushable pink wine with notes of strawberry, watermelon, grapefruit and tart cherry. Tart, refreshing and crisp; fruity but still dry. Pair this with a warm summer day and floating on a pool mat. These wines are made by Curt Schachlin of Sans Liege and Groundwork- this guy has access to great fruit!
