2023 Almirante Albariño 'Vanidade'

2023 Almirante Albariño 'Vanidade'

100% Albariño from the prestigious Val do Salnés subzone of Rías Baixas. Hand harvested, full destemming, partial cryomaceration, pneumatic pressing, static racking by cold decanting and then fermentation in stainless steel vats at 17ºC. 12.5% alcohol.

Tasting Notes

Classic stone fruit, citrus character, with good fruit concentration and some savory character. The wine shows power and density on the palate, with tons of clean and expressive fruit. There’s nice interplay between tart green apple and ripe apricot fruit, with layered ripe fruit while still being dry, crisp and refreshing.

About Viña Almirante

In 2000, a group of winegrowers dreamed of what is now Viña Almirante, a winery made up of 80 partners and families who live by and for wine.

We were inspired by the historical past of Portas (Galicia / Spain) and the legacy of the geographer Domingo Fontán, an illustrious ancestor of the region who allowedthem to understand that from emotional cartography we could make blatantly personal wines.

Located in Portas (Galicia) in the Umia valley on the banks of the Chaín river, Vina Almirante sits in an enclave with its own geographical and meteorological conditions that largely mark the character of the vineyards. They also have a small percentage of vineyards in the heart of Val do Salnés, a reality that allows them to work with many possibilities to be able to vinify very personal wines. Portas, is synonymous with history, origin and culture. In the 12th century, history reveals that King Ferdinand II of León donated the first known Albariño plantation to the Cistercian monks, the ‘Paradisus’ estate, in Santa María de Portas.
